Summer Bucket List: San Diego Northern County
“Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind & fills your life with stories to tell.” – Paula Bendfeldt
We know you've been planning your next getaway, so allow us to tell you why you should consider San Diego's Northern County. If you love beaches and water sports, you'll have plenty of opportunities to soak up the sun and dip your feet. But if you also enjoy culture, diverse food, and charming coffee shops, then you are in for a real treat!
Having made a number of trips out there, we'd recommend staying in one of the beach side resorts nestled in the northern country of San Diego. One that's worth a visit is the Cape Rey by Hilton located in Carlsbad, CA, just a few miles north of the city. Just steps from the beach, this gem offers ocean views, delectable eats, and its own spa. What can we say, you'll love it!

Now that you know where to stay, it's time to hit the town for some of the coast's best seafood. For a modern interpretation of a traditional west coast fish house visit Fish 101 in Leucadia, one of our favorites for Fish and Chips. For the best fish stew of your life, try the Cioppino at II Fornaio, an authentic Italian eatery in Del Mar. There's a reason why we keep coming back for more.

With 70 miles of glorious coastline, San Diego offers some of the best beaches in all of California! For surf vibes, good times and a laid-back point of view, make sure to visit our favorite, Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas. This authentic beach town is where the local surf scene rules and hipsters reside. For more dramatic bluffs and caves carved into the cliffs head over to Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. While in the area, check out Cedros Design District which offers unique shops, galleries and boutiques.

That's all we've got for San Diego! This is just a fraction of the infinite adventures this coastal county has to offer. If you do make it out there, you'll be sure to fall in love with its beachy vibes that will keep you coming back to discover yet another layer.
